A Hop and Skip from Gorge to Dodge Junction

Dusk's picture

When:

Summer, daytime

Who:

Snow Bolt
NightRaven
Iris

What:

Snow_Bolt steps away from the group for a moment and gives his front legs a quick kick to release the wings and unfural them from his sides. From there he takes a few steps back toward his friends and says, "I'm ready to go whenever you all are ready." He will be very pleased to be out of the gorge. This whole experience has been rather unsettling.
Chance looks over to PP and gives him a nod. "We are. I'll pull you along so you don't have to walk." PP glances down at the sled. "That's.. a sled." Captain Obvious. He settles on the sled clumbsily. He puts the turtle down and waves to it. The turtle waves back and wanders off. PP blinks a little. Chance finds a rope to use as a basic harness, and readies to pull the sled. He also carries Starfire. He's got all his supplies in his saddlebag, and Starfire's stuff hangs carefully from a side. He looks like a pack mule.
Dusk blinks and chuckles a little at the hat from Blue.  But he does accept it, "Why thank you, Little Blue.  Perhaps you have extras for the others?"  It's about the most color Dusk has for sure.  He makes sure he had a few special packed things of his own, and talks with the engineer.  He tries to persuade us to stay with the train until hepl arrives, but says he can't keep us here.  He lets them know we're heading to Dodge Junction.  Once everypony seems set, he steps a ways out and waits for the rest.  He steps over to Chance and magics the sled a little bit larger, so PP can ride it comfortably, and still easy to pull.  "Do you need any help, Mr. Chance?"
BlueFeather blinks, her head cocking a little to one side, then, she pulls out one more umbrella hat, held in a soft green glow, and magics it over to Mirage. She looks around, making sure, then she gives a little bob of her head, seeming satisfied with something. She gives another glare at the train, before rearing up to rest her forehooves atop of Dusk's head, and stand up tall, then a foreleg lifting and pointing forward, though weather its the correct direction or not seems not to be of interest to her. She keeps a pie close at hand, just encase PP starts talking funny at her again, in case your wondering, habaniro pepper. SHes learned not to trust ponys when she can't understand them, and one efect her her being part changling is that she is more prone to agression. Still, she has no problem holding her pose as Dusk starts to move, her head tilted slightly to one side. She pays the engineer no mind, as if  in her mind he does not exist.
Mirage thanks Bluefeather for the umbrella hat, then nods to NightRaven and Iris before going over to Dusk and Chance.  She smiles a little as Dusk uses his magic on the sled, and then looks back to the passengers and train crew who are waiting by the train.  "Help should already be on the way for them," she says to NightRaven and Iris.  Then she nods to Chance, Snow and Dusk to let them know she's ready to follow them.
NightRaven tilts her head while she glances to the ones that are being left and then looks to Mirage, a soft smile seen as she starts to follow along. Her wings flick and flutter a few times at her sides while her tail slowly sways. She's went and picked up her saddle bags, leaving behind anything that could be needed, though there is still some stuff in there.
Iris double checked her bags, then frowned as she forced the oversuffed bags closed, turning back to her map, compass, and sticking a pencil in her ear and reasjusting the bags on her back. Floating up the map, she nods to Dusk. "Ready to go, sir." She takes out her wooden sword and points it forward. "Onwards and upwards!"
( Ok then. All the ponies are set to make their long awaited exit from the gorge. Before he moves into the air though he does take a moment to walk over toward NightRaven. It would be incredibly rude of him not to at least offer, "Do you need any help with anything. I can carry anything that you need carried. You came a really long way..." Snow Bolt's mother taught him well. You always offer to help the old and those mares with foal. He doesn't really have much to carry anyway, just his own little bag filled with his lightning rod and thats pretty much it. )
Chance glances back at the sled as Dusk enlarges it. "Thank you Dusk. That'll make it easier for Programmer Pony." PP glances down at the sled as it gets bigger, and mumbles to himself. "Enlarge spell.." He peers at the sled. "Added mass." He taps it. "Density." Licks it, and makes a face. "Tastes the same." He may be slightly out of it under the sun here. Chance shakes his head to Dusk. "I don't, no. I can pull what I need, without trouble." he tells Dusk.
Dusk grins as Blue provides at least one more hat.  Seems she's rather liking Mirage now at least.  And Snow will hopefully provide any further needed shade and cool weather as needed.  He lets Blue keep her perch upon him as we start to move.  He smiles back to Mirage as she shows she's ready, and nods in turn to NightRaven and Iris.  "Excelllent.  And very well, Mr. Chance.  If anypony needs a hoof, we're all in this together.  Don't hesitate to ask."  He chuckles a little at PP as he examines each detail.  Yes will be a bit for him to be fully up to speed again.  Once everypony looks good, he consults with Iris and Mirage to confirm our heading, and starts out at an easy walk.
BlueFeather has not offered hats to the other ponys, though in Chance's case, its more cause she does not want to chance what might happen. The other ponys, well, she does not really know them, and she still has more than a bit of a thing against ponys that she does not know. She drops back down to sitting on Dusk's back, and pulls out another ice cold glass of juice, wich she starts to sip at, watching everything rather intently.
Mirage watches as ProgrammerPony taste-tests the sled, for a reason unknown to Mirage.  "Here you are, Programmer," she says as she magicks over her umbrella hat to shade his poor head.  "Just try to get some rest, and eat more when you feel you can," she smiles to him.  Mirage nods to Dusk and looks to Iris as Dusk consults about the best way to get to Dodge Junction.  "NightRaven and SnowBolt can always give us a pegasus-eye view," she chuckles softly to the little herd as Dusk sets an easy pace.
NightRaven glances to Snowbolt and offers him a soft smile. "I'm alright.. Thank you though. I did come a distance but my bags really arn't that heavy." She looks towards Mirage at the bit on the view part. "If you all like, I don't have a problem with it for a little while." When it comes to flying she doesn't have a problem with it.
Iris took one of the lead spots in the group, being careful to track thier positioning on thier map - she didn't want anyone to get lost, especially not as far as they were from big civilization, it was dangerous out here. "So, Dusk uh.... whose the new pony?"
Snow_Bolt nods his head when NightRaven says that everything is ok. He won't push, but does want her to know its ok to ask for help, "If you need anything just ask." he says as he steps away from her and kicks off from the ground and flaps above the group, following after those ponies in the front. Goodbye gorge! Hello sky.
Chance shifts in the harness a bit, mostly just to make sure it doesn't slip off. He then starts off, keeping pace with Dusk. PP looks up to Mirage and smiles. "Thanks!" He looks over the hat, then curls up, putting his head on his shoulder, and puts the hat on. Shade for more of him! "I like this. It'll keep the rain off!" Chance blinks a bit, glances back to PP, then looks over at Mirage. "What all did he drink again?"
Dusk smiles and gives Blue a little fuzzle, making sure he's safely in place.  He smiles as Mirage gives her hat to PP, and shoulders against her a little, "Yes, a good view will be helpful.  But everypony keep relatively close."  He glances over to Iris and the map, then looks up, "New pony, Miss Songson?  Do you mean Little Blue Feather here?  Or Mr. Programmer Pony over there on the sled?"  We certainly don't want to be lost, indeed.
BlueFeather for the momant seems rather interested in looking around, not paying a whole lot of attention to anypony really, though she does glance at Mirage and Chance once in a while, as if to make sure she knows where thay are. Dusk is easy, hes right under her, so shes got it easy keeping track of him. Her wings fan a little, ensuring that the air around her continues to move, helping to keep her cool, and her glass of juice or whatever never seems to run out, though shes drinking a lot as well. Still, to her, this is rather a little adventure, but, she can allways go home when she wants. She contemplates a few momants, and offers Dusk a glass of juice as well.
Mirage smiles as Snow Bolt makes sure NightRaven doesn't need any help.  Mirrage still isn't used to thinking of Raven as 'inconvienced' by her condition yet.  And Mirage feels better as Iris moves up to the front to help guide the group along.  She is much better with her detailed maps than Mirage herself is.  "Well, don't let us ask too much of you, Raven," she smiles to her friend.    chuckles softly to Chance.  "Every juice drink I could find from the snack bar," she replies.  "Nothing from the club car, I promise."
NightRaven smiles and nods to Mirage. "I'll be alright.. promise." She watches as Snow hops up into the air and is soon following after him with a flutter of feathery wings. Once up high enough she glides along to catch up while looking down over the group from above.
Iris shook her hand. "Nono, I've... heard of them, at least." She gestured over to Night Raven with a hoof. "That one, actually. I don't remember her on the train, I must have missed her somehow?
Snow_Bolt floats along in the air. Keeping NightRaven in the corner of his eye. If she has any problems at all he will notice and do what he can to help. Though its time to do something for the rest of the group as well. He takes a moment and visualizes it in his mind before his horn grows green and a large cloud forms above his head. Not a rain cloud or a thunder cloud, but just a nice fluffy cumulous cloud so that he, NightRaven and the other ponies on the ground can travel in the shade. If he has too he can change the temperature as well, but this seems the easiest for the moment.
Chance glances back to PP momentarily. PP has his head tilted, and the hat is on the end of his muzzle, still shading him since his nose is now up. He looks over to Mirage. "Well, maybe it's a sugar high then. Though if his body is trying to regain all of that energy lost, I.." He pauses as he hears something. He gives a glance around, then back at PP. PP is still there with a hat on the end of his muzzle, the sound coming from him. It's a light snore. "At least he can relax.." he finishes to Mirage.
Dusk ruffles his man against Blue and smiles.  Yes this is an adventure for all of them.  But not something all of us can just go home from on a whim.  He chuckles as Mirage explains what all was given to PP.  Well that's good at least.  Maybe too much sugar all at once or something, he agrees.  Or just from being so fatigued.  He ohs and nods, "That would be Lady NightRaven, Miss Songson.  She is a friend of ours from Ponyville, and roommate with Lady Mirage," to which he smiles.  He waits and watches with a nod as Snow works up a good sized cloud for the group once we're far enough from the train.  "Thank you, Mr. Bolt."  Once things are organized the pace picks up just a little, but still a comfortable walk, making some distance from the train, getting out into more open area, crossing towards the far side of the gorge, at an angle towards where the gorge reaches ground level, only a few miles up.
BlueFeather flicks her wings a litle and tilts her head a little to one side. She keeps fanning her wings, her keeping the air moving around her, because its nicer that way. She cocks her head a litle, watching everything thats going on. She at lest has plenty to drink, and is keeping well hydrated, its a shame shes not remembering to share.
Mirage smiles gently to Chance as she glances at ProgrammerPony.  "You don't like to take a nap when you're tummy's full?" she asks Chance, teasing just a little. "Besides, he ate crackers, pastries, and everything else we could find."  She hmmms as a shadow spreads over the area, and looks up to see Snow Bolt creating a large but innocent looking cloud to block the sun for us.  Mirage smiles again, happy that Snow Bolt is finally doing what he's always wanted to do.  She tilts an ear as Dusk explains to Iris as to who NightRaven is, and Mirage looks up to see her roommate flying as gracefully as ever.  "She's the most graceful flyer on the Ponyville Weather Team," she adds to Iris.  However, Mirage can't help but start going over how long it will take to get to Dodge Junction, and how difficult it may be to get transportation from there.  She goes over the possibilities and anticipated travel times as she walks, and finds herself seriously doubting we'll be able to get to Trottingham in time.
NightRaven would be a bit embarassed if she heard Mirage saying that about her.. Though when it comes to flying she is rather good at it. Her wings stretch out as she glides along under that cloud that is being used for shade. She looks up at it and then glances towards SnowBolt. "Did you do that?" She questions curiously. Well it wasn't her! She can work at controling weather like any other weather pony though not without getting in actual contact with the cloudy bits.
Snow_Bolt has gotten to the point where he can keep track of small things like that without much of a second thought, so talking to Nightraven isn't an issue, "Yes." he says with a smile, "Thats my talent. I can do the weather. I've been able to do that since I was little." Which isn't all that surprising if you know his history, but of course this is the first time that he has ever really had much of a conversation with NightRaven, "If its weather related I can pretty much change it as I see fit." he says with a smile.
Chance grins a bit to Mirage. "Sometimes, I suppose I do." He chuckles lightly. "At least he has a healthy appetite." He glances to the clouds. "Snow does a good job.." he states as an aside. He looks over the land as he walks on. "Not exactly how I expected to be traveling." He glances back to Starfire. "We really need to get her to the hospital.." he says softly, glancing to Mirage. His look tells-all. He is worried about Starfire..
Dusk is sure we won't have any problem at least with any water we may want, with Snow around.  And the cloud is doing a wonderful job.  Blue does get a rather good view from her perch though, second only to the fliers, to whom Dusk makes sure they stay relatively close to the group.  He grins and nods to Mirage, "She most certainly is extremely graceful, and capable," he agrees.  The travel seems to be going pretty well, though the cloud cover doesn't stay steady, as Snow finds it lags behind if he doesn't keep up on it constantly.  But watching the cloud too closely, he finds the group getting out ahead of him a ways.  Looking back the train is already about out of sight, even from the air.  Though the bridge remains can still be seen in the distance.
Mirage gives a little smile as she sees NightRaven and Snow Bolt talking as they fly overhead.  Snow needs to be around more pegasi, now that he can fly, and Mirage can't think of anypony who is better at getting him aquainted with the pegasi way of doing things than NightRaven.  Mirage nods lightly to Chance.  "Well, it -was- a terrible accident.  Everypony on the train was very lucky that Programmer was able to save us all from the impact.  And I'm sure we'll find a doctor or hospital in Dodge Junction, Chance.  Try not to worry too much."  She gives a nod and a smile to
BlueFeather continues to look around, her wings still faning slowly, suddenly she jumps off of Dusk's back, and darts off into a litle side canion, then just a momant or two later, shes back, and atempting to hop back up atop of Dusk, her tail giving a little twitch. She gives a little bob of her head, and looks at Mirage. She is clueless about thoes who might be injured, but, she does keep an eye on everypony.

NightRaven smiles and nods as she hears that before looking back over the area. "That's great.. I know how to control the weather but nothing really close to that." She offers with a soft tone at the idea while she turns slightly, wings flapping a few times as she glides over another bit of air current. "How do you like flying?" She seems rather curious of this one.
Snow_Bolt continues to fly through the air, making sure that he does stay with the group, pulling the cloud along with him to make sure that they are all still covered. Its easy enough to do. Its just one cloud and its not really doing anything but sitting there. He nods his head and smiles to NightRaven, "I like flying very much. It's been my dream since I was little." he says. And the good ponies at the MRC found a way to make it happen, "At first it was very strange, but its getting easier all the time." He will never be able to fly as gracefully as a pegasus or do anything really extreme, but that isn't the point. The point is that he is now up in the air and doing what he was meant to do.
Chance nods softly to Mirage. "I know, but.. I've seen too many ponies with head injuries." He gets himself more worried. "I've got to get her there.." He looks ahead, focusing on just getting Starfire to the hospital. As he does, Dusk may notice a bit of a shift with the magic of his quick-walk. Something's altering it in a complex way, just enough to make it more efficient.
Dusk blinks as Blue darts off quicker than he can try and get her to keep put.  He pauses for a moment and glad to see Blue hurries right back, though he still wonders what she went off for.  "Don't go too far, Little Blue, or you will get left behind," he says once she's back up, perhaps with a hoof from Mirage.  The trip seems quite normal to the ponies, other than Snow's efforts to keep the cloud with the group.  But with Iris's pinpoint locating, and Mirage's track of time and schedule, the two realize we are nearly already near to the edge of the gorge when we shouldn't even be all that far from the train yet.  Which may be why the cloud needs to be moved quicker than expected.  And now with Chance focusing on moving quicker, his talent starts altering the magic around us, to which Dusk perks his ears and glances around, not too obviously, as if looking for something.
BlueFeather chirps and bobs her head slowly, settling back down atop of Dusk's back, her head tilting to one side then, and returning to looking around, bright eyed and alert. She digs out a cupcake and starts to take slow bites out of it, unlike a real changling, shes gotta have pony food as well as love to servive.  Still, the monotony of the scenery seems to be starting to get to her, as she starts to fidget a bit and bounces around a little, looking for something interesting.
Mirage sees Chance's worried look, and his worry is understandable.  Mirage hadn't realized Starfire had a head injury.  "I thought Programmer kept everypony from being hurt," she says to him.  Mirage does notice the scenery is going by faster than it should.  It's actually easy to miss if you're not paying attention.  But she expected it all the same.  Otherwise, it would be after nightfall before we arrived at the town at just a walk.  She notes Dusk's expression as Chance focuses on hurrying for Starfire's sake.  "What is it, love?" she asks Dusk quietly.
( For all his talent to protect him, making him an untouchable, he's still a normal pony, with normal worries. And he gets himself worked up over the possibilities of what could happen with Starfire, even to the point where he's kind of zoning out Mirage. The more he worries, the more focused he gets, and his talent alters Dusk's magic further. The relatively short trip starts to get a whole lot shorter. )
NightRaven smiles and nods as she hears Snow. "I'm glad that you are able to fly.. I'm not to sure why I would do if I'd not be able to fly." There is a pause as she thinks on that, casting a slight glance to a wing that has pale silvery feathers on it. "I was grounded for a while from an injury. For a while there the doctors wasn't sure if I would ever fly again." Needless to say it was not a good time for this pony thinking such things. "If you ever want to go flying.. Let me know, yeah?"
Snow_Bolt will certainly take her up on that. He has been wanting to find friends to go flying with, but all the ponies that he knows well are unicorns and really couldn't go flying with him. Starfire is the only pegasus here that he really knows, and she is looking to be out of commision for awhile, "I'd really like that." Maybe NightRaven knows more pegasai that he can befriend, "Is your husband a pegasus too?" he asks. His turn to be curious about her. He continues to bring the cloud along with them as he flaps through the air, pulling it along as if it was attached by a string. He doesn't really notice that they are moving fast, he's too busy having a good conversation and enjoying his flight.
Chance is a pony on a mission!
For all his talent to protect him, making him an untouchable, Chance is still a normal pony, with normal worries. And he gets himself worked up over the possibilities of what could happen with Starfire, even to the point where he's kind of zoning out Mirage. BlueFeather blahs a little, her head tilting to one side a litle, then a wing lifting, and she reaches under it, and swipes a book from the ponyville library. She carefully balances the book on the back of Dusk's neck, and opens it, before starting to read, cause she is getting kinda bored after all. Shes also still siphoning off some love from Dusk, so that she is more easily able to do magic, so shes not having too much trouble keeping the book where she wants it to be
Dusk looks up at Blue and chuckles a little, ruffling her head for a moment.  Well she is sorta a foal.  Indeed, the effect is virtually unnoticeable without knowing just what to look for -- scenery or even climate changing quicker than expected.  But when a pony is looking somewhere, or focusing on something, the passage is quite normal.  But look off in another direction, or just don't pay attention for a moment, and things have changed, but in ways that blend together almost unnoticeably, other than the distance covered.  But Mirage has been on 'walks' with Dusk before and so has some experience with it.  He glances back over to Mirage, "Yes it's... something."  Is it another 'attack' coming, like the one that pushed the train off.  "I'm not sure, love."  He keeps walking, keeping alert.  But now the unnoticed effect is becoming decidedly not so.  Even when looking at something, ponies can noticed strange distortions and changes in the scenery around us, and sudden shifts and changes, and it starts to become
... very disorienting to the other ponies.  Iris can't start to figure where we are, and even Dusk is having trouble trying to keep it straight as he attempts to control the magic.  Well Blue should be getting something more interesting to look at now, at least.  He finally has to stop, and looks over to Chance.  "Mr. Chance.."
Mirage has been on field trips before with Chance and Dusk, and has seen what can happen when Chance's talent starts to manifest itself.  It's the reason she avoids going on field trips with them whenever she can.  She doesn't reply to Dusk, but gives him a meaningful look with a nod towards Chance.  "What do you mean, 'attack'?" she asks Dusk.  But then he's stopping and speaking to Chance, so Mirage gets Iris to stop, and comes to a halt herself, too.

NightRaven smiles and nods. "Of course." She offer softly as she glances down to the group seeming to notice something is a bit off but she can put a hoof on it. At the question she looks to Snowand blinks a moment, blushing. "I'm.. Not married.." This said softly.. Though she can see where there may be thought behind that. "Ah.. Romper an I never did get married.." At least not yet, not that she thinks anything is in the works for such things.
( Awkward. Very awkward. He had assumed and that seemed to have come back to bite him, "I'm sorry." he says. Yep. Keep it brief. No sense in lingering on her embarassment or his own at this point. Thankfully it seems there is more than enough commotion to break Snow Bolt's concentration. There is something weird going on here. He is used to weird after hanging around with Dusk, Chance and Mirage for so long, but this isn't something that looks to be good, "Dusk. What do you have going on down there?" he asks. He doens't want to be caught in the air if there is something strange coming. )
It takes a couple tries to get his attention, but Chance pauses and lets out a light sigh. "Sorry. Just.. distracted. Yeah Dusk?" He glances up the small hill they seem to be going up, and continues up it, expecting Dusk to continue on and talk to him. As they peak over the hill though, a town rises against the skyline and stretches out before them in the distance. It's their destination. Chance pauses and stares at the city. Was he that distracted he didn't notice how far they've come? "How'd we get here so fast?" His question might cut off what Dusk is saying.
Dusk should probably be glad that Blue was indeed distracted with reading and not perhaps panicked by what was going on around us.  He catches Mirage's glance and nod to Chance as she puts together what he's just realizing too.  Attack?  He didn't realize he had said that out loud, but he had mentioned it earlier too.  "Ah  I'll explain in a moment," he asides, having to turn back to something more important.  He doesn't go up after Chance, knowing we are almost there, and part of why he had to stop.  It would be downright dangerous traveling as we were in a tight spaced, populated area.  But even if we were farther off, it was still getting unsafe and would have stopped.  And he doesn't let Chance off that easily, "Mr. Chance.  You're not keeping control of your talent.  It was altering our quick walk, dangerously."  Indeed the uncontrolled effect would leave most ponies nauseous and disoriented in short order.  As well as a significantly greater risk of happening into something dangerous if Dusk isn't carefull
... carefully adjusting for that.  And now he finally answers his question, "And that's why we're here this quickly."
BlueFeather blinks and perks her head up, droping her book and nearly jumping up to her hooves and looking around, wings flicking wide, and mouth open to show her fangs. She might not have heard the word attack, but, she responds allmost as if she had, perhaps she is more tuned in to Dusk's emotional state than she means to be. As such, she foir the momant looks very agressive, wings up and mantling, fangs exposed, her tail giving a sharp little twitch as her head flicks, as she looks around for the posable danger.
Mirage is quite relieved as Dusk ends his spell.  She hadn't realized it, but there was an increasing pressure on her that she only recognized after the pressure was lifted.  Now that they're standing with Dodge Junction in sight, Mirage finds herself feeling a little light headed as her legs wobble just a bit.  Fortuneatly, the sensation seems to be leaving her as quickly as it came upon her.  "Explain what in a moment?" Mirage asks Dusk with a puzzled expression.  "All I did was nod to let you know Chance's talent was affecting your spell.  I didn't ask you anything."
NightRaven shakes her head a moment. "It's fine.. Nothing to be sorry about." She offers softly to Snow. There, is something going on for certain and she is looking back before them. "How did we get here so quickly..." Not that she gets to question anything else. Once that spell is indeed lifted she feels a bit on the ill side and her head is spinning. Her wings spread out soon fluttering a few times. "I'm not feeling to good.." A front hoof paws at the air a few times before she starts to drift downwards rather quickly, her wings being able to keep from actually falling towards the ground at least. Having a disoriented flying pony most likely isn't a good thing.
Snow_Bolt has never really had a flight like that before. Nor does he want to experience that again. He too feels dizzy, and more than a little bit ill. Like you do after you have eaten something that you shouldn't. This feeling normally wouldn't be a big deal, but when you are in the air and having to concentrate on many things it can cause more than a little bit of panic. His flapping becomes somewhat erratic as he struggles to regain some kind of control, while at the same time not throw up. The combination of this also causes him to begin to fall, probably at a more rapid pace than NightRaven since her wings are natural and she's had years of experience wheras he's only had a few months. Not wanting to see either he or NightRaven go splat on the ground he does the only thing that he really knows how to do well. He creates a big fluffy cloud that hovers about 6 feet of the ground and hopes that will be enough to stop him since there doesn't appear to be anyway that he is going to not crashland at this point if tha
( crashland at this point if that doesn't work. Hopefully it will help NightRaven after all. He feels some obligation to her since everypony here has some pony else to look after them and her special somepony isn't here. )
Chance blinks in a bit of shock as Dusk explains what happened, pulling his ears back. "I.. didn't know. I don't know how it happened. I just.. Dusk!!" he suddenly says, noticing the two falling ponies, and pointing a hoof at them, his expression suddenly shifting to worry.
Dusk feels Blue jump up and get all defensive as we all come quickly to a stop.  Well with Chance going a short ways further.  "Well, Mr. Chance, this is just the sort of thing we're work..."  But he's cut off by Chance's call to look up.  Now Snow does have some things in his favor.  The device reduces his effective weight, so he can hover with little effort, as he limited natural pegasus magic, particularly with flying.  The wings otherwise wouldn't be able to support him.  Also the wings have a failsafe position, that even if the controls failed or he was unconscious, they default to a position that spirals him to the ground.  The problem is if in a panic, Snow can be forcing the wings to further close, so that he is able to make dives.  But when not in proper control, that is not a good combination.  NightRaven seems to be gliding more smoothly at least, being more experienced in flight.  "Mr. Bolt!  Relax and glide!" he calls up to him.  He reaches out his magic though, to telekinetically try and help guide
... them towards the Cloud Snow made, particularly Snow, and force him to slow if need.  As for Blue, there isn't much for her to see around the area, no attack, assuming she isn't looking up at the two flying ponies.
Mirage gasps as she sees NightRaven and Snow Bolt both coming down!  She gets her legs steady and runs closer to the cloud Snow's made as a safety net.  Mirage can feel Dusk reach out with his colorless magic, but she gets ready to help if it looks like NightRaven or Snow will miss the cloud.
